A bit specifically about Sheila.... After over a decade of actively investing in real estate, Sheila Smith experienced firsthand the doors real estate can open to people and began her career as a Realtor. Within the first two years of having her license, she found herself in the upper 1% of realtors based on volume of property sold in the Intermountain MLS, encompassing Southern Idaho. This success stems first from loving what she does, but also by listening and paying attention to the individual needs of each unique home buyer and catering to them specifically. Sheila's extensive experience lies not only in residential, but income & multi-family, new construction, development projects and investment property. Every day is an opportunity for learning and growth, real estate feeds that opportunity. She also listed bank owned properties for three different local banks & has the most successful close ratio for short sale listings in the Boise area. She has redesigned & decorated three cafes, and has a vision for staging, layout, & true potential in property. Her background also includes extensive remodeling work. She has overseen complete renovations of 13 properties, thus giving her a depth of knowledge regarding the ins & outs of construction. Sheila has continued to be in the top 1% in the Treasure Valley and has received numerous awards including the Star Award from the Idaho Housing & Finance Association for being one of their Top 3 Agents for First Time Home Buyers local lending programs. She also has received over a dozen RE/MAX Northwest Regional awards & Circle of Excellence awards consecutively. Handling such high volume allows Sheila to be current & well-versed regarding market fluctuations & property values, day-to-day inventory, pocket neighborhoods that are holding value, & she definitely knows how to make a short sale close. Her knowledge & integrity ensures that all of her clients are making well-informed, thoughtful decisions. Sheila has an amazing work ethic & has developed long-lasting, trust-based relationships with her clients. Before falling in love with Boise & settling down, Sheila was an avid traveler, learned to speak fluent Spanish amidst tours from Mexico to Central & South America, including volunteering in a Guatemalan scholastic program for children in need. She also lived and worked remote on Baronof Island in Alaska for several years (no roads, electricity, or internet, & a population that you can count on your fingers) at a NOAA research facility. Before her explorations of the Americas, she received an extended BA in International Affairs, with dual minors in Spanish & Classical Guitar Performance at Northern Arizona University where she graduated with honors.
